Notes

  • The walk is organised by "Forest Marathon Association".
  • It is recommended that all participants carry maps (OS Explorer maps 220 and 205), food/drink, simple first aid and money. Entrants are also advised to wear sensible footwear and carry waterproof clothing.
  • There will be checkpoints on route. All will supply cold drinks and simple food, some will supply hot drinks but entrants should carry their own supplies to supplement these. Please note: IT IS ESSENTIAL TO BRING A MUG as cups will not be provided. There will be hot drinks and a meal at the finish including a vegetarian option. Showers and changing rooms are also available on completion.
  • All finishers will receive a digital completion certificate by email after the event, if you want a printed certificate on the day then order one in advance for £3 and we'll plant another tree for you.

Rules

  1. All entrants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a named responsible adult at all times.
  2. Entries must be made online or on the official entry form or photocopy with only one entry per form. If an email address is not supplied a stamped addressed envelope must be enclosed to allow the route description to be forwarded. Postal entries close on the 4th September 2020 or when the combined entry limit of 400 has been reached. Please contact the entry secretary for entry on the day.
  3. The entry fee is £19 for Full Marathon, 17 mile and Half Marathon; £13 Individual for 10k or £30 Family for 10k. Any Entries On The Day will be charged at £25 for Full Marathon, 17 mile and Half Marathon; £20 Individual for 10k or £35 Family for 10k.
  4. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry and return any monies paid in full. If the event has to be cancelled the full entry fee will be returned less any booking fees charged by SI Entries. If entrants cancel more than 10 days before the event the entry fee will be returned less a £5 administration fee, no trees will be planted for you. If cancelled after this point no refund will be given but trees will still be planted for you.
  5. The route will start from Henley in Arden School, Stratford Road, Henley in Arden, B95 6AF, Grid ref SP151 651. Registration opens at 07:30. Walkers on the Full Marathon route start will be 08:30. Runners on the Full Marathon and Runners or Walkers for the 17 mile and Half Marathon course will start at 09:30. All 10k entrants will start at 10:00. The event must be completed by 18:30. (10 hour time limit for Marathon route) and entrants must pass through each check point in the correct order.
  6. The route description will show checkpoint opening and closing times. Opening times are geared to 5mph (8km) pace from the main start at 08:30 and 8 mph from the runners start at 09:30. IF IT IS LIKELY THAT YOU WILL EXCEED 5 mph PLEASE START AT 09:30 HRS. Closing times are geared to approx 2.5 mph from 08:30. Participants must leave each checkpoint before the closing time and anyone arriving after the closing time will be retired or diverted onto the shorter course.
  7. Retiring entrants must hand in their tally at a checkpoint and transport to the finish will be arranged as soon as possible. In an emergency, if the retiring entrant cannot reach the next checkpoint, they should pass their tally on to another entrant to be handed in to a marshal at the next checkpoint. A mobile number will be given on the route description for emergency use only. Under no circumstances retire without telling the organisers. Please read the Health and Safety assessment included with the route description and follow the country code.
  8. No dogs are allowed on the event.
